The Craft Menagerie

A diverse collection of some of Cincinnati’s finest indie artisans and crafters

The Craft Menagerie is a diverse collection of some of Cincinnati’s finest indie artisans and crafters in the mediums of print, paper, fabric, collage, photography, jewelry, fabric manipulation and arranging. Their debut show is at Arnold’s on Saturday March 3rd during Bockfest from 11A-4P. Eat, drink, shop for locally made art and join us in all of the fun and revelry that is The Craft Menagerie.

Craft Menagerie is the brainchild of Tara Heilman of ROBOT Inside and Hilary Nauman of Ceci & Cela. We think you're going to love our friends! Vendors include:

  • PAPER ACORN - Paper Acorn is handcrafted paper goodness! Everything from gift boxes, to custom luminaries to paper dolls can be found at Paper Acorn; all made with paper. Jessica Wolf has been crafting full-time since 2009 and is looking forward to many more years of offering unique, handmade creations!
  • ADAM ELEPHANT - Adam L. Lawrence works in video production, and in his free time Adam gets into a bit of photography and creating little things with a variety of materials. He is inspired by color, music, people, and all the beautiful things you can see whether across the ocean, across the country, or across the street. His favorite materials are paper, paint, and fabric. Adam loves mixing the ideals and methods of physically and digitally constructing something to get a finished piece. Mainly, he just likes to be creative and stay occupied.
  • BLDG - The BLDG (The Building) at 30 West Pike Street in Covington, Kentucky, is an international mecca. This Southern destination for urban contemporary art challenges patrons to thought and introspection while motivating designers to create inspired solutions. The BLDG's copious creatives, purveyors of dissidence and proponents of the uncommon invite you to experience the South as you never have before.
  • OVENFRIED BEADS - I am a polymer clay artist living in Cincinnati, Ohio. I have had an intense love affair with the clay since 1995. I'm heavily influenced by exotic textiles, beads from all over the world, natural formations, and architecture. For me, polymer clay isn't about making the most complicated cane....it's about creating inventive, spontaneous designs with hints of the past thrown in. I want my work to be considered lighthearted, happy, peaceful wearable art. Other mediums include fabric, collage, and wire. Color is my second language.
  • LOVEWORN - After twenty years designing under the label "Sweetie Pies," I was inspired to reinvent and recycle. I am all about comfort, and a well-loved jersey cotton t-shirt is as comfy as it gets.I also love to do custom pieces. We all have a stack of t-shirts that have sentimental value and that we never wear but which we also can't part with. I love taking your favorite t-shirts and turning them into a one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art. I go "treasure hunting" at every thrift store or resale shop I can find in search of cotton t-shirts with the right colors and graphics. Often these stores are non-profit, so the money I spend on purchasing t-shirts goes to a good cause. Next, I super-launder all the t-shirts. Then I cut them up using my own Loveworn patterns and reassemble into an up-cycled wearable -- saving the planet one t-shirt at a time.
  • KEITH NELTNER - Neltner Creative is the visual and verbal expression of the mind of Keith Neltner, brewed in his century-old summer kitchen in Camp Springs, KY. Keith's approach to design, illustration, branding, and advertising began taking shape in the 80's growing up on his family's farm. From the time he could grip a pen, he drew on anything he could get his hands on. Crates, labels, 2x4s-didn't matter. This instilled in his spirit and his sensibility an appreciation for texture, vintage signage, and an honest hand-crafted feel that shows up in his work to this day.
  • ROBOT INSIDE - ROBOT Inside is the home of hand crafted goodness! I learned to sew and my Robot gave me ideas for Owls, Monsters & Mermaids...she told me to put them on bags and banners. The Robot has grand ideas and I am her instrument for bringing them to life! Our fabric creations are fun, some are upcycled and all are made with Love in our Lab!
